Organise your garage storage

Many homeowners regard the garage instead of a place to keep the car, as a place to store items that they do not want in the home such as spare furniture, decorating equipment and garden tools but very quickly a garage can become cluttered if it is not organised properly and is not easily accessible by having easy opening garage doors.

Metal racking that is attached to the walls of the garage is a good place to start and if clear plastic boxes are used to store smaller items the contents can be clearly seen whilst also keeping it dry and clean. Having hooks on the walls so that some items can be hung up can also free up floor space.

Some people decide to convert their garage space into additional rooms in their home. By far the easiest way to utilise the space in a garage is to use it as a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer installed therefore freeing up space in the kitchen. If the garage has an electricity supply, which most garages have, and the option to install a water supply and drainage then this should be simple to achieve. At the same time, the option to fit an additional toilet in your property should be considered as this can be easily done whilst installing plumbing to the garage.
